Vancouver Island University’s Hairdressing program is offering you the opportunity to engage in the Level 2 ONLINE training starting in February 2019.
This Hairstylist Level 2 program offers a blended approach to learning that consists of online and classroom study. Together, the length of online and classroom study time is 13 weeks consecutively.
- 12 weeks online training - 10 hours per week (approximately), and
- 1 week classroom training - 30 hours
Program Start and End dates:
Online: February 4th – April 26th, 2019 There are no set hours for the online component of the program, but apprentices can expect to spend approximately 10 hours per week on course work. For some apprentices the hours will be less, and for others slightly more. Classroom training: April 29th – May 3rd, 2019
The face-to-face classroom component of the program is held Monday through Thursday, from 9 am – 4 pm daily, and is offered at the following locations:
- College of the Rockies, Cranbrook, BC
- Selkirk College, Nelson, BC
- Vancouver Island University, Nanaimo, BC
The Level 2 program credits apprentices with:
- Level 2 technical training credit
Upon completion of the Level 2 technical training (online and in classroom), apprentices will write the Interprovincial Red Seal Exam on the last day of the training program (please note: this exam will be scheduled for Friday May 3rd, 2019). Arrangements will be made for apprentices to be present at the ITA Standardized Practical Assessment at the host location.
